Here at Fishel Steel Co., we specialize in stainless steel fabrication. Our team wants to help you get the high-quality fabrication services you need, and we believe the best way to do that is to teach you about the various techniques used in the fabrication process—that way, you’ll be able to make more informed decisions about what’s best for your business.
- Welding- The most well-known stainless steel fabrication technique is probably welding, or joining two pieces of steel together through heat fusion. This process can be done by a welder using a blow torch or by automated welding machines.
- Cutting- Another stainless steel fabrication technique that we use is cutting, which is exactly what it sounds like. To cut sheet metal, we typically use laser cutters.
- Machining- Another technique that we use in our stainless steel fabrication shop is machining. This term refers to turning, milling, and drilling, which are all used to remove material from a metal form until it has the desired shape and size. These techniques are used whenever additive techniques (creating the desired form by adding material rather than taking it away) wouldn’t create the desired results or give the necessary level of quality.
- Hardening- The last step in the stainless steel fabrication process is to harden the metal to ensure that it is at its maximum strength. For example, if two pieces have been welded together, our technicians will ensure that the weld solidifies properly and holds strong to provide reliable long-term results.
